Who should be president - John McCain or Barack Obama?
|
Ok... Let me see.. No experience compared to a boat load of experience.. obama is a charmer. He talks the talk( which he does quite well) but does he deliver. I pray that he will. No experience = to no confidence...I think MOST INDEPENDANTS FEEL THIS WAY
Posted by e.mo on 6/6/2008 Kudos: 17 Censures: 19 What real experience does McCain have? During the war he spent all if in captivity. During the Naval Academy he spent most of his time in trouble. During flight school he spent most of it in trouble to the point that his inexperience caused the US millions of dollars in airplanes that he wrecked because he was to busy partying rather than studying and learning. In the Senate and for the last 26 years he's failed to do much for the average American. He's done much for corporate America.
Supporting Link: Newspaper ArchivePosted by texan for Obama on 8/19/2008 Kudos: 2 Censures: 2 From his radical stance on abortion to his prominence in the corruption scandals that has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media, Barack Obama is not fit to be Senator -- not to mention the next President of the United States.
Posted by Anonymous on 6/14/2008 Kudos: 14 Censures: 14 john mcCain and his wife does not appeal to the avarge american people. They just want the rich to get richeir, lord forbid if they every had to experience any thing like the avavege american today.
Posted by www.creativetwoballoons.com@att on 7/26/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 OK, because it isn't the same as what someone else believes, then it's radical? What corruption scandals? It is McCain that now can claim "the teflon don" status. Remember Keating 5 -where the Judge said that he found him guilty of using bad judgement. McCain claims to know the average person "my friend" and yet he has no sympathy for the average American going through the mortgage crisis, why? Because he is an elitist who owns not 1 but 10 homes in the US worth more than $1 million dollars.

OBAMA "SOUND BITES" McCAIN "SOUND DECISIONS"
Best "SOUND DECISION" McCain can Make which will cinch my vote?
Chose ROMNEY as His Running Mate..
McCAIN / ROMNEY 2008 That's the Winning Ticket for America
Posted by Anonymous on 7/13/2008 Kudos: 8 Censures: 7 McCain is a great comedian. Maybe he should take on the comedy curcuit and leave running the country to someone who can actually make sound decisions. McCain can't remember which team he gave as his unit members while he was captive. Then he couldn't come up with a religous story of his own so he plagerized "the Sign of the Cross" from a dead author and faked a tear to get sympathy at the Faith Forum. Then he gets on an oil rig and flat out lies about Barack Obamas stance on oil drilling. Why? Because Obama has an energy plan and he just has continued punching and jabing.
Posted by texan for Obama on 8/19/2008 Kudos: 2 Censures: 2 McCain has always been pragmatic and willing to challenge conventional views. Obama simply offers the same platform of Jimmy Carter which was a massive failure.
Posted by Freedomfirst on 6/21/2008 Kudos: 11 Censures: 11 Grandpa needs to go fishing, put it bluntly white folks had control of united states as far as being president, you all who it offends can't believe that a black man has a chance, rememeber you all had it for over 100yrs let a black man try and if he fails you (bush)all fucked it up so bad there was no use.
Posted by wendy smith on 7/25/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 When George Bush, Sr. was president, McCain didn't want us in Somalia, but in the end he went with the status quo. After Bill Clinton won, John McCain spoke on the senate floor and said "we should not keep our men and women in harms way. We should not stay in Somalia because we fear that choas will break out if we leave. The United Nations has forces to take up the responsibilty." Fear of chaos should never be a reason to stay in a country and endanger our troops. And then lead an unsuccessful bill to cut funding to our troops there. He wasn't being pragmatic, he was being political.
Posted by texan for Obama on 8/19/2008 Kudos: 2 Censures: 2 Not the most skillful candidate, not the most impressive speaker, just an honest, smart, determined, sincere and productive Senator for many years. Senator McCain has given his life for his country.(You don't have to die to give your life for your country!) He is just a dependable, mature veteran of combat and of service. one politician who can't be bought. He is compassionate but tough. I will be proud and thrilled to vote for him to become our strong, sensible President.
Posted by Audrey on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 7 Censures: 5 Smart and determined, maybe. Coniving, liar, mostly. Sincere, I doubt he knows the meaning. As for giving his life for his country- the guy isn't dead. Old yes, but not dead yet. John McCain hasn't given anything without getting something in return, remember 150+ lobbyists- 10 Personal Residences in the US (all worth over $1 million a piece). He is not a veteran of combat, his lack of skill from lack of training because he was always partying landed him in prison through out the Vietnam War and so he has no experience there. He's been bought and sold so much his expiration date is open ended.
Posted by texan for Obama on 8/19/2008 Kudos: 2 Censures: 2 I find it strange that the country is ignoring the fact that McCain was one of the five senators (Keating Five) involved in the biggest savings and loan scandall in this countries history. He also was instrumental in decommisioning a base and getting it sold to a supporter for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars who in turn sold it for twenty million.I call that ccorruption!!!What would you call it????
Posted by Anonymous on 8/26/2008 Kudos: 1 Censures: 1 I think there are several very good reasons to not vote for Obama. First, he makes a statement about what he believes, and then he proposes solutions that are diametrically opposed to his "belief". Witness the statements on his own website about the economy.
Further, America is a nation at war. Whether we should be there or not is a whole separate discussion, but the fact is we are. Obama is not qualified to lead the nation's military, nor does he have much in the way of foreign policy experience.
Supporting Link: 7 Reasons Not to Vote for ObamaPosted by Anonymous on 6/26/2008 Kudos: 8 Censures: 6 Being prior service doesn't make you more qualified to be a good leader. And anyway, John McCain barely qualifies. He graduated at the bottom of his class, his Military ties were the only thing that kept him from being kicked out. Fligth school he continued with the same and because he did so poorly, he crashed several planes costing the US $millions of dollars and then he spent Vietnam in captivity. So, how much experience did he get there. None. Just a bunch of anger that he hasn't gotten a grips with.
Posted by texan for Obama on 8/19/2008 Kudos: 2 Censures: 2 Yes, He is the only possibility of getting Supreme Court Justices that will try to halt the slide of this country into immorality and dissolution. For too long the moral slide had been hidden behind such fallacies as "separation of church and state". Simple decency and morality is going the way of courtesy and civility. If you disagree with me just look at the tenor of the political race this year. The writers of the constitution never intended this sort of fiasco.
Posted by Anonymous on 6/15/2008 Kudos: 9 Censures: 13 This man has more experience at handling terrorists and war. This is the first year I plan to go to the polls to vote more against a president than for one. Mr. BO is
scary...lack of patriotism, (at least he isn't hiding it from us ahead of time), seems to waffle on the issues such as drilling off shore for oil, immigration, etc. to get the votes he wants. The Republicans are being blamed for several things but we need to remember we have a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS the past TWO years.
Posted by Anonymous on 8/14/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 4 We really don't know what or who Obama stands for other than himself. He has yet to actually work for a living, so does expect to represent the working class. Even in the Senate he has yet to register a vote for or against anything - he either votes "present", which can only mean that he really doesn't understand the issue, or he doesn't bother to show up at all. I think that McCain is ready and willing to serve his country; Obama is ready to serve himself at the country's expense. Obama, "ask not what your country can do for you - as what you can do for your country." Honestly for a change.
Posted by fkr on 7/22/2008 Kudos: 6 Censures: 5 we know who john mcCain is, he did not want to leave prison in war time or after, he stood with bush while he lead this country into division and war, he vote on things and dont recall the votes, he wants to stay in a country to fight awrong war so he wont feel he too was wrong, and he is talking like and with the BUSH klan. That we do know.
Posted by www.creativetwoballoons.com@att on 7/26/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 4 Nobama08. Sure, he is charming and people get all warm fuzzy inside when listening...We don't need a rock star who will be strutting out on stage to U2's City of Blinding lights. Have you listened to the words. Obamas thoughts on too many issues and his "old buddies" won't do it for this lady. One last thing, as of this moment, Michele would embarrass me as a "First Lady" because a lady she isn't. Can't wait to hear her "blah blah blah" tonight. Thanks
Posted by Anonymous on 8/25/2008 Kudos: 1 Censures: 1 How can I vote for a man who will not put his hand over his heart and say our Pledge of Allegiance? McCain has fought for his country. Enough said.
Posted by paula on 7/25/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 John McCain gives the best opportunity for this country to turnaround it current failing economy. He has already pushed for the use of Nuculer fuel which the Navy has used for years. He understands what the country needs to secure our boarders and protect its interests. He comes across as a leader with experience and not a rookie with no experience. Ideas for change can be good but at what cost should be our concern. The key to this election will be the condidate who will address the cost of off-shorting jobs which I believe John McCain will do.
Posted by bgsdooley on 8/11/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 3 John McCain may not be the most decisive presidential candidate, in getting his point across and may not be completely aware of every aspect of what is happening in regards to social, political, and economical issues, but so are the other candidates.
Look at McCain on the where he stands on the issues and his plan thus far and then Obama when you scrutinize how they plan to change the country and you'll see who is the better candidate. Also when you choose the next president you will choose what type of path we take as a nation and the system that it will run off of.
McCain 08
Posted by Anonymous on 7/15/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 4 you must be rich to vote mcCain 08, this war is not only killing our troops, but it is killing most middle and lower income american people. Not like you , like us.
Posted by www.creativetwoballoons.com@att on 7/26/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 3 I was not a McCain supporter until Obama became the candidate of the Democratic party. If you write down the pros and cons of each candidate, who is raising taxes, creating more government give aways, sending more of our hard earned money over seas, socializing our health care (look at Oregon. A woman was refused a prescription drug because rationing has already begun there. Luckily the drug company gave it to her free). I'm going with the best of the two and that's McCain. I don't agree with everything he wants but at least the country will still be standing when his term is over.
Posted by votinred on 8/3/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 5 John McCain is a mature, experienced and an American hero. He is not the charmer that Barack is, but he would bring stability to the white house whereas Barack would bring inexperince, no foreign policy, and a butt load of taxes. I don't know about you, but I am already taxed up to my eyeballs.

Obama is a disgrace to the black race and should never be mentioned in the same verse with Martin Luther King

Barack Obama is the much better candidate. He stands for working class people, and does not support Bush's tax breaks for the rich, like John McCain. He'll withdraw our troops responsibly, and won't keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years like John McCain.
Posted by someguy2304 on 6/11/2008 Kudos: 16 Censures: 10 Taxing the rich does not help anyone but does prevent the rich from hiring more people.
Posted by Freedomfirst on 6/21/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 6 You do not know your facts! Here is why Obama should NOT be president: When OB raises taxes on the "rich" it impacts us all as "the rich" pay more than 40% of the income tax burden. The top 50% will account for 97% ofall federal income taxes and the b0ttom 50% to which we mostly working folks belong will have paid just 3% according to the WALL STREET JOURNAL JULY 9 AND .the IRS!!
When rates on the wealthy are shifted, they reduce work and investment, redeploy their money into tax shelters, and they pay LESS NOT MORE at higher rates! The burden shifts to us! GET EDUCATED!!
Posted by hsabin on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 5 YOU are quoting out of context!! Look at history - and learn facts! WE have been in Korea for over 50 years!! McCain said as long as troops are not being killed or harmed he will leave them there if it takes 100 years to make the middle east stable. He won't be HERE for 100 years!! But it will take US presence in the middle east to keep it from being a hot box! We are doing tremendously well in IRAQ - if we stabilize Afghanistan we will be much better off!! So will the middle east who wants peace in such nations as Jordan and Egypt! Get FACTS so you are not ignorant of the issues!
Posted by hsabin on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 4 Your posting false information. McCain does not plan to keep troops fighting in Iraq for 100 years. The Middle East is a region where we will need to keep some military presence just like in Korea and elsewhere. Its the responsible thing to do. We have troops all over the world.
Posted by votinred on 8/3/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 3 McCain in general doesn't seem to understand how the economy works. Many of his proposals will either do nothing, or they will in fact harm the economy.
Supporting Link: McCain Policies that are bad for USPosted by Anonymous on 6/25/2008 Kudos: 6 Censures: 4 Get your facts straight by going to the July 9 WALL STREET JOURNAL acticle on income redistribution by OB!! You don't know what you are talking about. If OB raises rates on the "rich" we end up paying as they "redistribute" their wealth into tax shelters or go overseas and WE - the low income will end up paying MOST of the tax burden! MCCain understands - he says he won't raise taxes!!
Also - OB doesn't understand the economy either! RAising taxes will HURT our nation, not help it - again read and learn! Stop quoting opinions with no facts to back up your uneducated opinion!!
Posted by hsabin on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 McCain was irresponsible as a youth and is unpredictable with uncontrollable anger. Also his age is going to hamper his judgment. What about alzeimers possibility.
Posted by Anonymous on 7/7/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 4 No. He's already showing increasing signs of forgetfulness. The media keeps giving him the benefit of the doubt, but in doing so, are neglecting to find out just how serious an issue could be at hand. He doesn't want to face questions from the media, instead proposing that ALL debates with Obama be one on one, no moderators. WHY? Joe Lieberman can't stand over his shoulder 24/7 in order to keep him from sticking his foot in his mouth again and again? Why was the media only allowed a limited amount of time to view his medical records? What's he hiding? No. McCain's not fit to serve.
Posted by Anonymous on 6/15/2008 Kudos: 9 Censures: 7 . Do you know why McCain proposes town hall meetings with OB? - because OB can' tspeak without a teleprompter! HE doesn't speak - he reads speeches - watch him switch his head from side to side as he READS - his speeches. He can't debate one on one as he doesn't have the EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE or answers to questions asked. He FUMBLES For words when he is NOT scripted on a teleprompter!
OB changes positions from day to day - LOOOK AT HIS 20 year record of action and you will see how he is flip flooping and having to change or "refine" his words almost everytime he speaks without reading!!
Posted by hsabin on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 Actually, McCain wants regular Americans to ask him questions, not the media. The media is very liberal and I can understand completely why he would rather talk to the people than answer pre-written questions. Have you noticed that Obama refuses to go on FOX? Because he is afraid of the hard questions they will ask that the left leaning media won't ask. I think having town hall meetings, unscripted is the perfect way to get to know the politicians. Why doesn't Obama?
Posted by votinred on 8/3/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 5 McCain not fit to serve? I will take a trusted American military man any time to one who does not seem to know where he really stands on any given issue. To be truthful there are times I wonder if he is a real American. I just don't trust Obama. John McCain all the way.

Posted by Anonymous on 7/9/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 No he shouldn't be our next president! Is no one going to ask the important questions regarding his views on war? Why is he so determined to WIN in Iraq, a country that didn't attack us? Is it because he feels the need to defeat them because he couldn't defeat his captors during Nam? Keeping our military, 100,000 + strong in Iraq, is just as dangerous because while they're there, we're all still here, virtually helpless. Obama was the first, and for the longest time, the only, candidate who said he go after Bin Laden no matter where he was, including Pakistan.
Posted by Anonymous on 6/15/2008 Kudos: 9 Censures: 6 this comment is so stupid .he is the weakest ever on terrorist.which explains why he is backed by so many of them.read quotes from his books.he even says if it comes down to it he will back the muslims.that is his own words.
Posted by Anonymous on 6/21/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 6 Please check your facts. The Iraq Liberation Act called for regime change. One of the reasons provided was the fact Saddam Hussen tried to kill the 41st US president.
Posted by Freedomfirst on 6/21/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 6 I cannot believe you just asked why McCain wants to WIN in Iraq! What country are you from? Of course we AMERICANS want to win in Iraq. Do you want to lose? We have been saying all along that the democrats want us to lose in Iraq and you are the proof of that. You are very unAmerican to want our troops to wave the white flag. I'm ashamed and embarrassed that you live here.
Posted by votinred on 8/3/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 4 What was McCain's role in the USS Foresttal Fire that caused the death of over 167 servicemen. Did he cause these deaths by "wetstarting" his jet ? Did he crash multimillion dollar jets with recklessness? Did he violate military code during his Vietnam imprisonment ? Did he commit war crimes as he confessed to on "60 minutes"?
An answer of "yes" to either of these should disqualify him as US President. Also an answer of yes to either of these questions if he is elected should horrify America.
Posted by Anonymous on 7/7/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 First I apologize for picking on you as almost every argument supporting Mr. Obama seems to be an argument for not voting for John McCain vs telling us what Barack Obama will do for this country. Our country needs to move forward with the right President. Your reason for voting for Barack Obama should be based what he will do for this country (e.g. cost of fuel, jobs being outsourced, housing problems, homeland security, dealing with world leaders, and of course the war). I can only say as a former soldier we must pick and choose our fights with the American people being protected at the top.
Posted by bgsdooley on 8/11/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 3 One lady does NOT make an opinion! I don't respect OBama because he is a typical politician spouting a myth - CHANGE - which means nothing and his voters believe it! WHat is he going to change? More people moved out of poverty under BUSH than Clinton - does he want to raise that figure back up? More minorities hold HIGH positions in the government under BUSH than Clinton- will he change that? Our economy is holding steady and investment is doing well - will he change that?
Get real buddy and learn facts! Go read and get educated about the issuesQ
Posted by hsabin on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 4 Censures: 4 Barack Obama would me a better President, Because he realize that the system is broke and need change. And mcCain who has been in office as long as he has. Seem to like the way the goverment has been bamboozling the country with it's corrupted way
Posted by Anonymous on 6/20/2008 Kudos: 8 Censures: 5 Why is the system broke? Where are your facts?? We have the greatest country on earth - 1.25 million ILLEGAL MExicans must think so as they came across the border last year! Further, you have the Internet - TV, probably a cell phone, a car? a house? What are you complaining about? Yes we have corruption and OB is right in there among it! He gave ONE MILLION of our tax dollars to his wife's hospital and then she gets a one hundred thousand dollar raise for it - he is as corrupt as most in the government and so is she! WISE UP!
Posted by hsabin on 7/11/2008 Kudos: 5 Censures: 4 l believe that mccain has run out of ideas hence he is going rule by old ideas-war, outmoded foreigh policies, economic instabilities and the continuation of bush policies which has not work for us. this time there is a new crop of leaders who are young and doing better than the old generation among them are president of france russia, argentina, south korea among others and l believe that going for obama will be a the best idea.
Posted by you and me on 8/2/2008 Kudos: 3 Censures: 3 Every thing about McCain is false-he ratted out his fellow warriors less than 4 days into captivity. his father being an admiral kept him from prison. he has no more experinence than obama as a leader. in fact he fails in leadership positions.
he's simply four more years of big spending and war.
