Question: Who should be president - John McCain or Barack Obama? Argument for the "Yes" side McCain has always been pragmatic and willing to challenge conventional views. Obama simply offers the same platform of Jimmy Carter which was a massive failure.

When George Bush, Sr. was president, McCain didn't want us in Somalia, but in the end he went with the status quo. After Bill Clinton won, John McCain spoke on the senate floor and said "we should not keep our men and women in harms way. We should not stay in Somalia because we fear that choas will break out if we leave. The United Nations has forces to take up the responsibilty." Fear of chaos should never be a reason to stay in a country and endanger our troops. And then lead an unsuccessful bill to cut funding to our troops there. He wasn't being pragmatic, he was being political.
