Should Barack Obama be president?
|
Check out the latest poll from Time Magazine. It shows that Barack Obama does better in a match up against John McCain than Hillary Clinton.
"Obama captured 48% of the vote in the theoretical match-up against McCain's 41%, the TIME poll reported, while Clinton and McCain would deadlock at 46% of the vote each. Put another way, McCain looks at the moment to have a narrowly better chance of beating the New York Senator than he does the relative newcomer from Illinois."
We can't risk letting Hillary win the democratic nomination. Vote for Barack!

Posted by jewel on 3/2/2008 Kudos: 24 Censures: 23 Yes, I believe him to be the best man for the job. He will give the power of our nations voice back to the people. His decisions will be based upon our decisions.
Do we want WAR or do we want PEACE. We the people will have a voice as it should have always been.
Posted by bluej on 3/21/2008 Kudos: 22 Censures: 22 Barack Obama has a lot of political experience, and will unite the country rather than divide it. He'll also help bring our troops home safely.
Posted by henry2304 on 1/28/2008 Kudos: 21 Censures: 25 What experience?! Short time in the Senate, little serious legislation, "knee jerk liberal" voting history in the Senate, minor elected experience in Illinois. His strengths were best displayed as editor of the Harvard Law Review - reviewing others' well-thought out arguments and picking the ones that he approved of most. As for unity, the kind of thing that (unfortunately) unifies all the people is outrage, like 9/11. Feel good speeches and theme songs inspire at the moment, but the glow wears off. We need more than "I believe!", and "I hope". If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.
Posted by ladyk1128 on 2/8/2008 Kudos: 24 Censures: 23 Oh!! First term as Senator is a lot of political experience? His speeches have been orchestrated and up until tonight were just empty words with no explanation. Tonight he still gave empty words quoting form MLK, JFK and he took from Hillary in their debates. He couldn't answer while she gave her plans but suddenly tonight he had the same plans. Given time he will be ready but not now!!!
Posted by jb1985 on 2/10/2008 Kudos: 28 Censures: 21 Barack has the vision and ability to inspire the people like a Reagan or JFK or FDR, something neither of the other two have. Barack also has pragmatic answers that aren't funded by major lobbyists and don't mandate silly things like "buy health insurance". Hell, if I could buy health insurance, don't you think I would have already? Maybe one of the most idiotic things a candidate has ever proposed Hillary, and a major reason to vote Barack over Hillary.
Barack doesn't change his mind with the political polls or winds, and is willing to explain why he believes something popular or not.
Posted by polpartysuck on 3/4/2008 Kudos: 24 Censures: 21 Yes, because he has the judicious temperament and serenity of a truly religious and moral person with a mature personality. He is really Lincolesque.
Posted by Anonymous on 3/21/2008 Kudos: 21 Censures: 21 Obama has about as much experience as that other guy from Illinois had. I know, Obama has more political experience than Hillary or McCaine for president. Hillary is full of many lies and only wants the votes from the Superdelegates not from the people. She kills me when she visited TX her home town and now in PA, well when did she ever care to stop in to visit before the election? Please see her for what she really is stacks of LIES!!!
Posted by DIaneT on 3/18/2008 Kudos: 20 Censures: 20 Obama -The damage and corruption you see around you is the ending of an era and the beginning of a new regime of building up to a properous planet. The campaign has already been won because the American people have gotten sick of the last 20 years of same old, same old. Obama is the wave of a cutting edge future

Posted by Anonymous on 3/14/2008 Kudos: 17 Censures: 19 This country would be well served by the likes of Barak Obama. He wants to get us to the otherside of our dark and hopeless selves. He has a vision for the country and he can deliver!
Posted by madoyster on 3/26/2008 Kudos: 21 Censures: 19 Obama knows what this country needs and can give us hope. "Experience" has only given us lies. The perfect example of this is when the question of each candidate's greatest weakness came up...Obama was the only one (of the 3 at the time) to actually give a real answer. We need someone who can be straight with us, get us back in good position with the rest of the world and think as one of us, not as someone above us. Barack Obama is what this country needs - CHANGE!
Posted by Anonymous on 4/2/2008 Kudos: 19 Censures: 21 Barrack Obama is honest, and is trying his best to run a campaign that sticks to the issues. Obama has a plan for bringing this country together so that we can move forward without all this classism and racism like it should be. Remember this is the "UNITED" States of America. We will lose all faith in our leaaders with someone like Hillary that thinks it's okay to lie to the American people by fabricating sniper stories and pregnant woman without insurance stories....these are lies that never had to be told. If Hillary will lie unnecessarily...imagine what she would do in a real crises!
Posted by pharm416 on 4/21/2008 Kudos: 20 Censures: 18 Yes, Yes and Yes, I feel as though he brings hope, faith and courage to a long failed government system. We must return to the roots of our constitution, and we must help our own people. Obama must win. We had Hillary and Bill in the white house for 8 years. It is time for a fresh new outlook. If the Clinton's really wanted a new outlook don't you think they would have changed things the first two times in office, or are they trying to tell us that 8 years was not long enough to create change.
Posted by sherryjohnstonwright on 4/23/2008 Kudos: 20 Censures: 20 I like Obama's possiblity of change. Our government is run by too many who have been involved for too many years, we need some opportunity for new life in leadership. I believe Obama will reach out and try to do his best to bring about positve change. It is tiring to keep hearing about the Clintons and the Bushes same old, same old.

The republicans atrent doing anything but slowly destroying are great nations with unessacery wars ,privatie agendas and putting their wallets befor their country....so lets just rally behind obama get him in to office and lets keep the house and senate ......we are own are way to fixing this country lets not blow it by beign ignorant by not voting or voting for john mcain

My reasoning is not something you will read in political blogs - nor on these pages. It is that - since JFK, we have had nothing more than political idealogues as President. They have done nothing to build on the spirit that encompassed our people in the days following the end of WWII. Their intent was not to "spread democracy" but to maintain their power base and get re-elected.

People do NOT forget their upbringing no matter what they say. No matter how well he plays the game now, his loyalties will become evident (I hope the Americans don't give him the chance though...)
Posted by Kat on 1/30/2008 Kudos: 23 Censures: 22 Barack Obama has mimicked so many others; NONE of his campaigning is his own original. He is NOT experienced enough at this point in his political career, and would be better suited to wait for future elections; as suggested by some media political anylsis experts. Endorsements are nice, but do not mean a hell of a lot at the end of the day; we are electing the candiate, not their many endorsers! Many, if not all, running candiates in any election year that are even viable to get elected, have 'skeletons' in their closets, and Obama is definately no exception!! He is NOT the right candiate!
Posted by Very Informed Voter on 2/5/2008 Kudos: 27 Censures: 22 He has virtually no experience--domestic or foreign--compared to Hillary or McCain and he appears much too socialistic and willing to raise taxes (which, certainly wouldn't be great for business/the economy). "Change"????;----I could change 100 things in my business;------and all for the worse. To me, his "Change" mantra isn't persuasive. If it were that simple, our major problems would have been eliminated or minimized many years ago. That's why they call them "problems".
Posted by loginn on 3/2/2008 Kudos: 19 Censures: 20 Hillary has the experience and the know how. She already knows how Washington politics works. She can be as ruthless as needed and as diplomatic as needed. Obama just can't do the job. It will take 4 years for him to learn how to get around the white house and through all the doors.
Posted by Yabemom on 5/13/2008 Kudos: 19 Censures: 18 #1 He's not who he says he is/#2 He's not an American,He don't salute an American flag or wear a flag pin. #3 He's Black
Posted by Anonymous on 5/13/2008 Kudos: 23 Censures: 19 DEFINATELY NOT. HE'S AN EMPTY GLASS...ALL HE DOES IS TALK OF CHANGE, HE DON'T TELL HOW HE'S GOING TO MAKE THE CHANGE.............YA GOTTA WALK THE WALK ,NOT JUST TALK THE TALK.VERY LITTLE, IF ANY EXPERIENCE IN THE WHITE HOUSE. PLUS HE IS ALWAYS PLAYING "THE RACE CARD". HE DON'T SUPPORT OR SALUTE THE AMERICAN FLAG,LET ALONE PLAY THE POLITICAL GAME AND WEAR THE FLAG PIN,WE REALLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS SO CALLED OBAMA OSAMA GUY. AMERICA WILL BE SORRY IF WE LET THIS MAN BECOME PRESIDENT.....
Posted by Anonymous on 5/13/2008 Kudos: 19 Censures: 19 No way. you got to be kidding. I'd rather have Bush stay in office 8 more years and suffer with the economy, gas prices, ect then vote for Osama obama
Posted by Anonymous on 5/13/2008 Kudos: 20 Censures: 18 NO..........OBAMA SHOULD DO US A FAVOR AND DROP OUT.
Posted by Anonymous on 5/13/2008 Kudos: 18 Censures: 17 Obama will really create chaos in America, his Black Liberation minions will stamp out whatever little free speech there is left. A person cannot longer voice a preference, and I for one, prefer to vote for people with my values. He will DIVIDE the country big time! The extreme left media made him and now they are trying to ram him down our throat together with the Rev. Wright! He has no experience and lies to boot! He does not offer Universal Health care and is an opportunist of the first kind, he 'talks nice' is about it.
Posted by lee on 3/24/2008 Kudos: 19 Censures: 19 I think he was planted here and we are going to be in worse trouble than we are with bush. Lots of retarted people around who claim they want "CHANGE" you'll get change alright!
Posted by Anonymous on 5/18/2008 Kudos: 18 Censures: 19 His policies are a rip-off from Jimmy Carter whose administration was a disaster: double digit inflation, Iran hostage crisis, Soviets invading Afghanistan and skyrocketing gas prices. Yes, Obama will make things worse.
Posted by Freedomfirst on 6/21/2008 Kudos: 13 Censures: 11 I am concerned about where he is receiving his campaign contributions and his experience level. I believe both candidates should announce their cabinet and extensive information and connections of them be made available. Hitler came to power during an economic disastorous time in Germany. although our economy is struggling it is substantially strong yet the American people are in economic fear.
Hitler promised a fix, Obama offers us hope, Hitler turned outward, I am afraid Obama will turn inward and destroy the American dream that allows all to be the very best they can be.
Posted by irishsambo on 6/22/2008 Kudos: 12 Censures: 11 And He won't Be..Simple We Don't know him,All we know is the Media Spin on Him..I believe that He is a Good Person and loves his family.Love his kids and his interaction with them..and is probaly a good freind and Church Member freind..But running the most Power/Influencal Country on the Planet? NO WAY..WHY? This isn't the movies. This is real life..No on the job training for this post..
The main things that concern me..Like the old song says (He's a little bit country and a little bit rock in roll) Obama is a little bit Martin Luther King(30%) and a Little Bit Malcolm X (70%)..
Posted by Anonymous on 7/13/2008 Kudos: 12 Censures: 10 To young, no political experience, to left extrem very close with communism conception
Posted by Anonymous on 7/27/2008 Kudos: 9 Censures: 11 Obama is not yet prepared for this position.
We are in a very difficult moment: political, economicaly, social domestic and interantional.
We ned a strong political personality to confront Rusia who has a strong Putin behaind the new President.
We need to be very attent when will elect a President.
We need to reastablish our position in front of the world. Obama can't do this.!
Posted by Anonymous on 7/27/2008 Kudos: 8 Censures: 9 Let's see...let me count the ways:
Lack of experience, lack of patriotism, wife isn't proud of this country, tolerated a hate mongoring church for TWENTY years, is more representative of a UN representative with the diverse background and heritage, talks one way, seems to live another. (Poor people can't do what he is doing.) Took the flag off his new
campaign jet...hugh? You want to be president but not represent our flag?
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/airplane.asp
Appears also to be arrogant as if he is ALREADY the President in his comments and travelling to Europe.
